Western Sales Service Technician, Ben Frolick wins Territory Champion for John Deere’s Technician of the Year

A familiar face at our Biggar dealership recently received the Territory Champion Award for John Deere Technician of the Year.

Ben Frolick has been one of the lead Service Technicians at our Biggar Dealership for the past 11 years. Upon the news of receiving this prestigious award Ben said, “I'm very honored to be the Territory Tech of the Year, there are a lot of great technicians out there, but it's nice to be recognized for the hard work and long days it takes to keep our farmers' equipment running in the field.” This work does not go unnoticed, as Service Manager, Alasdair Russell explains of Ben’s work ethic, “Ben puts everything he has to help every customer and our company in the very best way that he can, he is not happy until the customer if fully satisfied and will put his own personal life on hold to help customers and the company year-round!” The salesmen and parts specialists who work with Ben also collectively echo the sentiment about him, “He is extremely easy to talk to and can explain things in a way that makes sense to most people. Ben is the type of guy who doesn't consider what time of day it is or how hard or dirty a job might be when a customer is broken and needs to be fixed. His attention to detail, tireless work ethic and commitment to perfection shines through in absolutely every thing he does.”

The John Deere Territory Technician of the Year Award is granted to technicians who are a tremendous representative of John Deere and their dealer by their commitment and dedication to their work inside the dealership and out in the community. These technicians play a crucial role in supporting customers to keep them up and running through technical expertise, leveraging Deere and dealer resources, but most importantly by building deep trust with all customers. This exemplifies Ben as Alasdair states, “Ben is very knowledgeable and always willing to share his knowledge and time assist others both in house and out. He is known around town if you need a volunteer, he will help if he can.”

When asked what advice he would give to other technicians who are just starting out or to those who may want to enter an ag mechanic career Ben offered, “concentrate on the basics, the rest will come with experience. I can be working on a new state-of-the-art combine one day and then work on a 50-year-old tractor the next. Every day is something different and a new challenge. To be successful you must have a passion for the job and treat it more than just a pay cheque.”

Thank you Ben, for your commitment and dedication to your work, to our customers and to Western Sales. We’re proud to have you as part of the team. Congratulations and well deserved!
